ABOUT MOUNTAINS

Speaker: Mr. John Retchford

John Retchford was a member of the New Zealand Alpine Club in the 1960s and 1970s and climbed widely in the New Zealand Alps. John says he was lucky enough to travel to South America in 1969 as a member of an Australian Expedition to the Andes in Peru. He has climbed extensively around the world including the Himalayas.

These days, John says that he has hung up his climbing boots but still remains an active bushwalker.
