The Friends of the Auburn Tower Inc. is a non-denominational, not-for-profit body, incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (Vic) in 2004. Its objects are:
(i) to promote awareness of the architectural significance of the Auburn Uniting Church complex of buildings;
(ii) to support the conservation of the Auburn Uniting Church buildings, in particular the Tower, on a non-denominational basis;
(iii) to provide a focus for members of the community who wish to see the Tower and other buildings preserved for future generations and used as a community resource.
The inaugural Hon President of the Friends is Ted Baillieu MP, the Member for Hawthorn in the Victorian Parliament, and himself an architect. The Patron is Professor the Hon Evan Walker AO, an architect and former Minister for Planning. The Executiive Officer is Ms Cheryl Pisterman.
Membership is open to all who have an interest in the Tower, in the following categories:
Individual Adult $15 per annum
Individual concession $10 per annum
Family (2 adults at the same address) $25 per annum
Corporate $100 per annum
The Membership Year is from 1 July to 30 June. Pro rata subscriptions are available for those joining during the year.
Members receive a newsletter, free or reduced-price admission to lectures and concerts, and free admission to the Tower when it is open to the public for a fee.
